Reports Print

The Center for Computer Forensics has two elements of the report that are unique in the industry. The first element is the standard review of the examination and presentation of evidence. The second element is access to all the responsive evidence in electronic format with a powerful search engine included.

The Center for Comuter Forensics will send you a CD or DVD and you simply load the disk into the computer whereupon it boots up. The first page provides simple instructions and a choice between the report and the search ending. As an option, the Center for Computer Forensics will print up the first page of the report so that the attorney can see a summary of the findings before loading the contents of the disk.

Main Page -- Report Summary
The main page will contain a written narrative on the examiner's findings. The examiner will provide links to the parts of the report that provide greater detail on the findings.  Also included will be:

  • Details on the items examined
  • All files with possible relevancy found in the examination
  • System metadata associated with those files
  • Details on the procedures performed
  • A glossary of technical terms
  • Examiner's CV's

Evidence Search
The inclusion of the search capability was driven by a client request several years ago.  They appreciated the electronic report but wanted to look around the evidence just to make sure they had everything needed for the case. Almost without exception, our clients have utilized this capability in every report review with very positive feedback.

The search engine used on the disk is from dtSearch and you can search all the evidence that was found during the examination.  dtSearch is a excellent tool and is very easy to use and offers a comprehensive number of searching features.
