While other companies boast their ability to analyze their client's media, the Center for Computer Forensics can not only safely acquire and analyze media, but we can also ensure that the media is further protected and preserved well into the future! Once data is received by the Center for Computer Forensics multiple steps are taken to ensure that it is available for the future and protect it from possible manipulation by anyone or anything from that point forward. Chain of custody documentation will be created and maintained throughout the engagement. Various safeguards that the Center for Computer Forensics employs include physical media being stored in a secured fireproof media safe, bit-stream images of data acquired through write blocking devices which can be verified for originality at any point through the use of mathematical algorithms (MD5 or SHA1 hash values), and back up of the media and case files on high capacity tapes which are then stored in a secured fireproof media safe. Please contact the Center for Computer Forensics if you have any questions or concerns should you anticipate upcoming litigation! |
